Ploughing Championship

Today was the Press Reception for the forthcoming National and EuropeanPloughing Championships. Despite the very inclement weather there was a good turnout. Minister for Agriculture Brendan Smith was the Guest of Honour. Fair dues to Anna May McHugh and the NPA, they are superb organisers. The logistics of such an event are immense and it must be a daunting task. Athy also held last years championships and maybe, just maybe the 2011 will also be here. The event is of great economic benefit to the area.
